A Ukrainian private energy company is building power plants in the EU.

DTEK Group Holding plans to complete the construction of the Ruginoasa wind farm in Romania by the end of the year, which is the first project by DTEK Renewables in Europe. Also, the company has large-scale plans to construct new facilities in Europe for the next few years, said CEO of DTEK Maksym Timchenko.

“The capacity of the wind power plant is 60 MW, and the solar power plant is 50 MW,” he clarified.

The CEO added that 1,500 MW of capacity in four countries is currently under active development. DTEK is also considering projects to construct wind power plants and energy storage systems in Poland. In total, DTEK plans to build four power plants in the EU: two in Romania, one in Croatia, and one in Italy.
