A Ukrainian company, supported by international financial organizations, is constructing a 93 MW wind farm in the Kirovohrad region.

Energy Trade Group has initiated the wind farm’s first stage, which includes the installation of three Vestas wind turbines with a total capacity of 18.6 MW. The construction is financed through Ukrgasbank, the EBRD, and the IFC, with a total financing amount of €26M for this stage. Energy Trade Group is also involved in solar power generation and manages solar power plants with a combined capacity of 62.3 MW.
Meanwhile, Friendly Wind Technology, Ukraine’s sole manufacturer of megawatt-class wind energy equipment, aims to increase its capacity by 200% this year and produce 100 wind turbines annually.
Experts suggest that each hryvnia invested in a wind farm yields a multiplier effect of approximately ₴100, boosting related industries. Currently, half of the 16 wind turbines in Transcarpathia’s first wind power plant, which has a capacity of 80 MW, are operational. The wind power plant in the Nyzhni Vorota community is expected to be fully operational in the upcoming months.
