A Ukrainian businessman has revealed his plans for a recently acquired tractor plant, the oldest in Poland.
Ukrainian businessman Oleg Krot, who recently acquired the Ursus tractor company in Poland, plans to resume its normal operations. The new owner intends to launch production at two industrial sites, modernize equipment, and improve energy efficiency. According to Krot, the company went bankrupt not because of market factors but because of mistakes made by previous management.
A large-scale program to revive the legendary Polish brand will be presented in the first quarter of 2025. Plans to resume production include increasing the number of employees (now only 117 remain out of the previous 1,000) and entering the African market: Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda.
“These markets need such tractors in large quantities,” the businessman believes. He is also considering possibly developing sales in Ukraine and other European countries.
“We have our own capital, as well as financial partners in Poland and abroad who have expressed great interest in investing in the company,” said Krot.
Ursus is Poland’s oldest agricultural equipment manufacturer, founded in 1893.
