A new French fry production plant and elevator will be built in the Cherkasy region.

The Potato Agro company from the Cherkasy region plans to launch a French fry processing plant in early 2026. The facility is currently under construction, and some equipment has already been delivered. The processing capacity will range from 150,000 to 180,000 tons annually.

There are only two or three varieties listed in the Ukrainian registry of French fry seed material. The company is now trying to select other varieties that will pass testing to see if they will grow in their fields. Since almost no one in Ukraine grows potatoes specifically for French fries, the company decided to increase its knowledge in this area. This season, they plan to process some potatoes into a dry mixture (mashed potatoes).

Meanwhile, the Agroplus 2006 company, which operates in the livestock sector and manages 6,000 pigs, is working on a project to build a new elevator with a storage capacity of 15,000 to 40,000 tons. The company has also constructed a feed mill with a capacity of five tons per hour. The total cost for building the elevator and feed mill is ₴86M.
