A land market phenomenon: Here’s why the frontier region has become one of the leaders in land sales.

The Sumy region took second and third place in terms of the number of transactions and the total area of plots that were purchased. In 2022, the region was under Russian occupation for almost two months, and now it is increasingly suffering from the aggressor’s shelling.

It is reported that interest in the Sumy region is first connected with the high quality of the land. Agricultural land in the Sumy region is known for its combination of soil quality, balanced weather conditions, and provision of water resources.

Another attractive incentive is the low tax burden.

The second reason behind this activity is that because of the risks associated with war, these plots are undervalued. There are investors who believe that the current prices correspond to the risk. The only land prices that are cheaper than in Sumy can be found only in regions where active hostilities are occurring – Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Kharkiv.
