A Harris presidency could be a reboot for Ukraine.
Former US President Donald Trump’s camp is increasingly dictating US policy regarding Ukraine. Political consulting firm Rasmussen Global (RG) believes that now that Kamala Harris has become a presidential candidate, the Democrats should regain control over American policy towards Ukraine.
According to experts, Harris, in the role of president, should demonstrate her readiness to remove restrictions on the use of long-range Western weapons for strikes on Russian territory, as well as on the deployment of instructors from NATO member countries in Ukraine. Harris must also show that she will not allow Putin to dictate the terms of war. To do this, she could declare that the US will support allies who shoot down Russian missiles or drones near their territory.
“This could address one of the main complaints of Republicans – that European countries are not doing enough to support Ukraine. The lifting of restrictions and a show of support could prompt European allies such as France, Britain, the Nordic countries, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Poland to take more decisive action in helping Ukraine”, RG is convinced.
