A global online carpooling platform with a significant market share in Ukraine has attracted €100M.
“The company will use the €100M investment to implement an ambitious growth strategy, including several M&A deals. The additional funding will allow the company to develop new projects, encourage innovation, and explore opportunities for new acquisitions,” said Nicolas Brusson, co-founder of BlaBlaCar.
The company reported that 80 million passengers used BlaBlaCar services in 2023, 23% more than a year earlier. The company’s growth is particularly noticeable in emerging markets such as India and Brazil.
In Ukraine, the number of registered users in 2023 reached almost 11 million. This is the highest indicator among the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. For comparison, there are about six million registered users in Poland and 1.5 million in Romania.
BlaBlaCar’s 2023 profit amounts to €253M, 29% more than the previous year.
