A French company has started construction of modern power grids in Ukraine.
Work has begun in the Zaporizhzhia region by the French company, EDF International Networks. According to Deputy Energy Minister Yaroslav Demchenkov, the new networks are expected to be flexible, efficient, reliable, and integrated They are being built in consideration of the need to develop new economic facilities, including renewable energy sources, and will provide the full demand for electricity distribution.
After successfully implementing the pilot project in the Zaporizhzhia region, it is planned to expand the cooperation to restore distribution networks in other areas of Ukraine.
The official noted that investment in the development of distribution systems will contribute to attracting funds for related services, such as developing energy storage systems, balancing, microgrids, and electromobility. According to Ukrenergo, 40 220-750 kV power transmission lines in Ukraine are not operational due to damage caused by Russian air strikes or occupation.
