A dry port will be constructed in Western Ukraine, near the border with Poland.

Ternopil company Weststar Group plans to build a dry port in Volyn, which will be situated near the railway on plots covering nearly 35.6 hectares, and access tracks will be developed for it. Weststar Group is part of the Ternopil group of companies Western Container Terminal, which provides logistics services.

According to the project’s specifications, the area of development will encompass 142,148 square meters (14 hectares). The future terminal will have a throughput capacity of 10,000 twenty-foot equivalent containers annually.

The upcoming dry port is located approximately 25 kilometers from the Yagodyn international checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Polish border and 10 kilometers from the terminal that the Interkoleso company began constructing in 2023. Work on that facility is currently on hold due to legal issues. The Antimonopoly Committee has determined that Interkoleso acquired land for the port’s construction in violation of the law.
