Another company is entering the Ukrainian market to sell guarantees of origin for electricity from renewable sources.

DTEK Renewable has, for the first time, issued its own guarantees of origin of electricity (GOE) from renewable energy sources in Ukraine, the company reported. “We are building new facilities with foreign investment and issuing guarantees of origin for their sales on the domestic market and carbon credits for sale on international platforms,” said DTEK Renewable Energy CEO Oleksandr Selyshchev.
According to Selyshchev, Ukraine is currently in the initial stage of creating a comprehensive market for guarantees of origin, which is a key step toward increasing the use of clean energy in the economy. The purchase of GOEs by companies and enterprises officially confirms their use of electricity from renewable sources and highlights the environmental value of their products.
As previously reported by the National Commission for Energy Market Regulation, Ukraine had issued nearly 10 million GOEs as of July 2025. Currently, the most active sellers of renewable energy in Ukraine are Energoatom, Ukrhydroenergo, and the Guaranteed Buyer. It should be noted that one renewable energy certificate equals 1 MWh.
