Germany and the US have agreed to transfer five Patriot systems to Ukraine, enhancing Kyiv’s long-range capabilities.

Berlin and Washington concur that Ukraine should receive five Patriot air defense systems as soon as possible, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said during the 29th meeting in the Ramstein format, attended by more than 50 of Kyiv’s allies, including the US. He added that in the next few days he would coordinate with partners on the mechanism for implementing these plans.
Additionally, he stated that the first German-funded long-range weapons for Ukraine would be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine within a few days. Germany will continue to strengthen Ukraine’s long-range capabilities by providing further support and organizing close technical cooperation between the defense industries of both nations.
Furthermore, Germany, together with Britain, will supply 220,000 rounds of ammunition for Gepard anti-aircraft systems as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, British Defense Minister John Healey, during Ramstein, called on the allies to launch a 50-day campaign to arm Ukraine to pressure Russia into negotiation. In two months, London has provided Kyiv with £150M worth of air defense and artillery ammunition.
