Kyiv is launching a joint weapons production program with international partners in Ukraine withing Ramstein coalition.

Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umerov revealed the Ministry of Defense’s plans to expand Ukraine’s cooperation with its allies on joint weapons manufacturing. He mentioned that there are already 21 initiatives to localize production in Ukraine with some of the world’s largest arms manufacturers, along with up to ten projects abroad, particularly in Denmark, Britain, and Norway, along with other countries.

Several German enterprises are already operational in Ukraine, and a Ukrainian production plant is expected to open in Denmark in the coming months. To streamline these procedures and attract investment from partner nations, upcoming legislative changes are planned. Canada is also exploring opportunities for joint production of military equipment with Ukraine.

Additionally, since the start of 2025 the Ministry of Defense has approved nearly 600 domestically produced weapons and military devices for service (with 320 approved in the first half of 2024). These include nearly 250 unmanned aerial systems, over 100 types of ammunition, and 50 electronic warfare systems.
