For the second time in two weeks, Ukraine has targeted Russia’s largest gunpowder factory while the aggressor strikes Kharkiv again.

On the night of June 11, Ukrainian drones launched a substantial strike on the Tambov gunpowder facility. Local residents reported hearing at least 15 explosions accompanied by a fire, likely ignited by one of the ammunition warehouses.

The Tambov gunpowder plant is the leading producer of gunpowder in Russia, generating over 200 types of products for small arms, hand grenades, grenade launchers, and artillery ammunition. This recent attack marks the fifth since the onset of the full-scale war, with the most recent strike occurring on May 29. The Russian Defense Ministry stated that 32 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and shot down over Russia overnight.

In retaliation, the Russian Federation launched 17 Shahed drones against Kharkiv, hitting a high-rise and private homes. One drone also struck a trolleybus depot, affecting engineering communications and industrial facilities. The attack resulted in three fatalities and 60 injuries, including children.

Furthermore, on June 11 Russian forces bombarded Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region, damaging over 80 residential structures, a kindergarten, a train station, and an emergency medical vehicle.
