The G7 finance ministers have agreed to continue supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russia,

stated German Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil on the sidelines of the G7 meeting in Canada. It was previously reported that the US opposes including “further support” for Ukraine in the G7 statement.

“It has become clear that in the G7 format, support will remain unchanged, and that Ukraine can count on strong solidarity and substantial support from the G7 countries,” said Klingbeil.

Additionally, support for Ukraine was discussed on the sidelines of the G7 meeting in Canada, where Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko met with Lars Klingbeil and Canadian Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne.
