The economic partnership agreement with the US has become more equal.

It will cover all resources, including oil and gas. President Zelenskyy said that, according to a report by government officials on the progress of negotiations with the US on the conclusion of an economic partnership agreement, the text of the document has been significantly revised, it has become more balanced and now benefits both the Ukrainian and American peoples.

“The document has become much stronger – equal – and can become beneficial for both our peoples: for Ukraine and for America,” the president stressed.

According to the FT, the framework of the mineral deal, which can be signed this week, will cover not only rare earth metals, but all mineral resources including oil and gas and major energy assets throughout Ukraine.

It is worth noting that as a result of massive Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure this winter, the country lost almost 50% of its gas production.

The agreement must be ratified by the Ukrainian parliament, and several deputies have emphasized that they would not support a bad subsoil agreement.
