After the expiration of the “Easter truce,” the Russian Federation launched an attack on Ukraine using missiles and drones.

On the night of April 21, the Russian Federation struck Ukraine with three missiles and 96 strike drones immediately after the so-called “Easter truce”, declared by Russian President Putin for April 19-20, came to an end.
However, even during the proposed truce, the Russian army violated their promised ceasefire on the front 2,935 times. Additionally, the Russians set an ambush near Toretsk in the Donetsk region, resulting in the deaths of Ukrainian fighters. Nonetheless, there were no air alerts in Ukraine on Sunday.
The Russian Ministry of Defense predictably accused the Armed Forces of Ukraine of violating the ceasefire, announcing an attack on Donetsk on April 20 in response to Ukraine breaking the “Easter truce.” In this way, they aim to portray Ukraine as unwilling to pursue peace and create an image of Putin as a peacemaker. Moreover, under the guise of the truce, the occupiers have been establishing routes for heavy equipment in the Lyman direction (Donetsk region).
Meanwhile, the Russian command has tasked the occupiers with reaching the administrative border between the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions by May 9.
