Amid negotiations, Russia has increased its attacks along the front and is breaking the terms of the energy truce.

Combat at the front increased noticeably in March, despite ongoing peace talks. Compared to February, the figure increased by approximately 30%, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated. In particular, 4,270 combat clashes were recorded in March, with 3,274 in February. In total, 12,631 separate combat incidents have occurred since the beginning of the year.

In addition, the enemy has begun to carry out air strikes on Ukrainian settlements and positions of the Defense Forces more often. “In three months of this year, enemy tactical aviation dropped 10,577 GABs,” the statement said.

Also, on the morning of April 1, Russia once again violated the temporary cessation of strikes on the energy sector. Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said that because of the attack on Kherson on April 1, one of the city’s energy facilities was damaged. 45,000 people were left without electricity.

At the same time, Russian troops significantly slowed their advance in Ukraine in March, capturing only 133 square kilometers – the lowest figure since June 2024, when 114 square kilometers came under Russian control.
