Tusk: Ukraine’s allies, including Europe, Turkey, and Canada, should prepare a clear plan for negotiations with Russia.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that the allies need to develop a clear and systematic strategy for peace talks with Russia. Tusk also believes that Europe, Turkey, and Canada should actively participate in shaping the negotiation framework.

“It seems there is no clear course of action, and this creates a sense of chaos and improvisation. Sometimes it elicits emotions similar to those we witnessed in Washington, which we would all prefer to avoid,” Tusk said.

He emphasized that the allies should collectively formulate a unified stance on the upcoming negotiations to prevent contradictory signals. Tusk hopes that unity among these allies can influence Donald Trump’s stance on supporting Ukraine. The Polish prime minister also pointed out that Ukraine’s security guarantees are not currently being discussed, as they should be legally binding to avoid creating the “illusion of security.”

Following the London Summit, Finnish President Alexander Stubb announced that Ukraine, Britain, and France will be joined by Finland and Norway to work on developing a peace plan.
