Trump summarizes the outcome of negotiations with the Russians: Ukraine must hold elections to engage in talks.

The US President described the meeting as “very good,” stating that his confidence in resolving the war in Ukraine has increased. Trump mentioned that he is not opposed to the deployment of European peacekeepers in Ukraine, but not US troops, and also emphasizing the necessity of elections in Ukraine.
“The support for the Ukrainian leader is at 4%… If Ukraine wants to have a seat at the negotiating table, it needs to hold elections,” the White House head stated.
Additionally, Trump expressed frustration with Ukraine’s stance, with stated displeasure at not being invited to the negotiations and refused to acknowledge the results of the meeting in Riyadh.
“They had a seat at the table for three years and well before that,” he remarked.
It’s important to note that the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia wanted Zelenskyy to attend the talks, but Washington and Moscow insisted on excluding Ukraine.
Furthermore, the 4% support figure for Zelenskyy contradicts official polls. According to the latest KIIS data, 57% of Ukrainians trust Zelenskyy, while 37% do not.
