A biomethane plant ownded by the agro-industrial holding MHP exported 27,400 cubic meters of biomethane to the EU, making it the second Ukrainian company to export this gas. MHP exported the biomethane through gas pipelines across the Ukrainian-Polish border to Germany, where it was sold to Vitol. The MHP biomethane plant, recently connected to the grid, can produce 11 million cubic meters of biomethane annually.
As a reminder, on February 6 2025, a customs declaration was first submitted to export biomethane to Europe via pipeline. The first exporter of biomethane through the GTS was the Vitagro group of companies. As early as January 9, one million cubic meters of biomethane were stored in Ukrainian facilities.
MHP exports products to over 70 countries around the world. Its land bank spans 360,000 hectares across 12 regions of Ukraine, providing ample raw materials for biomethane production. So far, the only companies in Ukraine to have entered the biomethane production industry are from the agricultural sector.
