Between minimal and zero: Kellogg evaluates Ukraine’s chances of regaining its nuclear status.

US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg stated that Ukraine’s likelihood of reclaiming its nuclear weapons is “slim and none.”

“Let’s be honest, we know that’s not going to happen,” Kellogg remarked regarding President Zelenskyy’s proposal to obtain nuclear weapons as a security guarantee if Ukraine is not allowed to join NATO.

Trump’s Ukraine envoy also stated that reports the US president’s peace plan would be presented at the Munich Security Conference are false.

“There are no such plans. The only person who will present a peace plan is Donald Trump, not Keith Kellogg. But that’s not going to happen next week,” he clarified.

Instead, at the Munich Conference Kellogg will address Russia’s war against Ukraine in order to gain insight other countries’ positions on ending the conflict. He will then relay this information to the US president.

Kellogg will also urge the NATO allies to boost their defense spending and take on a greater share of the war’s cost.
