The Mykolaiv region is looking for investment to increase its distributed generation.

To strengthen the Ochakiv urban territorial community’s energy security, local authorities have announced a project to install four cogeneration plants, each with a 1 MW capacity. The plants are designed to operate in a partial load mode, providing a reliable alternative to the grid infrastructure. The project will require 12 months and more than €4.97M (₴218.8M).

Plans have already been made to install seven cogeneration plants based on the facilities at Mykolaivoblteploenergo at a cost of almost ₴1.5B. This will allow the supply of heat to approximately 100,000 consumers, as well as 130 social institutions. In addition, constructing a modern 12 MW wind power plant is planned, which will require more than ₴800M.

As noted by the Office of the President, Ukraine will continue to install shunting gas generation this year to achieve its declared 1 GW plan. The state is also counting on the contributions from wind turbines installed in the Carpathians and other western regions.
