Ukraine will receive €300 million from the EIB to restore three hydroelectric power plants and modernize central heating.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that Ukraine will secure funding from the European Investment Bank to restore the Dnipro hydroelectric power plants and modernize its central heating infrastructure.
“We are making a decision that will allow us to receive €200M from the EIB to ensure the operation of the Kaniv, Kremenchuk, and Dnipro hydroelectric power plants. These costs cover the purchase of equipment needed for recovery after Russian terrorist attacks,” he stated during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting.
Additionally, the government resolved to secure €100M from the EIB to invest in the modernization of central heating and energy efficiency in Ukrainian communities. This will involve the purchase of boilers, engines, turbines, and related equipment.
