How much financial support from the EU will Ukraine receive this year and will aid from the US be suspended after Trump’s decree?

In 2025, Ukraine expects to receive more than €30B in budget support from the EU, said Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko. The amount consists of two parts: €18.1B from the framework of using income from frozen Russian assets and €12.5B in assistance within the framework of the Ukraine Facility. The funds will be used to meet state budget needs in both 2025 and 2026. The EU has been the largest donor of direct budget assistance since February 2022, providing €45B.

However, as reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, the decision made the day before by US President Donald Trump to suspend international aid to other countries for 90 days will not affect military support for Ukraine. Trump’s decree concerns international assistance within the framework of “development programs,” such as the activities of UN agencies, peacekeeping initiatives, refugee support programs, etc.
