Ukraine will attract $1B this year through the Danish model of arms procurement.
Ukraine will develop the Danish model, according to which partners purchase weapons from the Ukrainian defense industry for the needs of the Ukrainian military, and this program is expected to attract more than $1B in 2025, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
“In the security sector, we will also pay special attention to developing a shelter system based on the Finnish model. This public-private partnership provides for a large network of reliable shelters. In peacetime, these shelters will have different purposes,” the prime minister said.
According to him, Ukraine plans to produce at least 30,000 long-range drones and approximately 3,000 cruise missiles and drone missiles in 2025.
“We have a record budget to provide our army and strengthen the defense industry. In total, ₴2.230T has been invested in defense and security,” Shmyhal said.
According to the prime minister, spending on weapons and military equipment will amount to at least ₴739B ($17.5B), and domestic defense industry enterprises plan to provide for increasing existing production capabilities to $30B in annual output.
