Trump’s team is actively studying ways to end the war in Ukraine.

Discussions are currently underway among Western allies on “how to stop the conflict,” said Trump’s future national security adviser, Michael Waltz. “Before Trump’s inauguration on January 20, his team is closely coordinating its actions with the current US administration, and this applies to any negotiations on a ceasefire in Ukraine,” Waltz specified.

During Trump’s recent meeting with the NATO Secretary General, the role of European countries after the conflict’s end was discussed. Among other things, according to Waltz, Trump’s team is ready to discuss Hungarian Prime Minister’s proposal regarding a ceasefire in the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Keith Kellogg, the future US special representative for Ukraine and Russia, believes the war could end within the next few months.

According to Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, after Trump’s inauguration, Ukraine will receive new opportunities to achieve a just peace.

Meanwhile, last week the US House of Representatives passed the 2025 defense budget without provision for Ukraine’s continued lend-lease support.
