North Korea goes to war: the Pentagon and NATO have confirmed the presence of North Koreans in Russia.
NATO has finally confirmed the presence of North Korean troops on Russian territory.
“If they plan to participate in this war on behalf of Russia, this is a very serious problem, and it will affect not only Europe but also events in the Indo-Pacific region,” states US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin.
NATO spokeswoman Farah Dakhlallah had noted that the participation of North Korean troops in the war against Ukraine would mean a significant escalation of North Korea’s support for Russia’s illegal war and another sign of Russia’s significant losses on the front line.
Meanwhile, analysts predict that Russia may involve troops from North Korea in winter assaults to take Pokrovsk or another key position on Ukraine’s eastern front.
Ukrainian intelligence has information about the training of two brigades totaling 6,000 troops. However, South Korean intelligence claims there are 3,000 North Korean troops in Russia. According to several sources, the first North Korean troops were supposed to arrive in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation on October 23.
