Ukraine will become the second strongest European NATO member.

Speaking at the Warsaw Security Forum, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Baiba Braže, said that Ukraine will have NATO’s second strongest army on the European continent after joining the Alliance. It is surpassed only by large military players like the US and Turkey.

During the same discussion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, emphasized that the transatlantic community needs Ukraine to “guarantee security” and “gain more competitive advantages.”

In turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, shared his view on why Ukraine should immediately be accepted into NATO and provided with as many weapons as possible to resist Russian aggression. He also feels that, without a stable guarantee of security – such as joining NATO – any peace agreement will be worthless because Russia will attack again.
