The head of the British Foreign Ministry in Kyiv announces an aid package worth £600M.

In particular, the UK will provide £242M in 2024-2025 for urgent humanitarian, energy, and stabilization needs and support for reforms, recovery, and reconstruction. This year’s funding includes £100M for humanitarian aid, notably to support Ukrainians in communities near the front line. Another £20M will double this year’s assistance for necessary repairs, power grid protection, and strengthening Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Also, £40M will go towards stabilization and recovery as soon as possible “so that Ukraine not only wins the war but also can take the first step towards peace,” said UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy.

He also announced the provision of $484M in credit guarantees by the end of the year that will support lending by the World Bank intended to strengthen Ukraine’s economic stability. These funds will be used to support schools and hospitals, pay civil servant salaries, and finance pensions.
