During the Kursk operation, Ukraine again asked for permission to employ Western weapons, and American senators have promised to convince Biden.
President Zelenskyy welcomed a delegation of US senators in Kyiv, with whom he discussed what Ukraine needs to do to “end the war fairly.” The discussions regarded the need to use long-range weapons.
One of the delegation members, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, called Ukraine’s operation in the Kursk region brilliant and courageous, calling on the Biden administration to provide Ukraine with the necessary weapons.
“We want to convey to the Biden administration the idea that it should give Ukraine more flexibility and authority to use the weapons provided to strike deeper along existing lines,” said another member of the delegation, Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal.
He acknowledged the limitations and challenges to granting such permission to Ukraine, but the senators hope to overcome them.
Unfortunately for Ukraine, Britain still will not allow Ukraine to use Storm Shadow long-range missiles in the Kursk region. France also has a say in the decision due to mutual production.
