NATO emphasizes that Ukraine can strike with Western weapons in Russian territory, but the US is still against it.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stressed that Ukraine has a legal right to use weapons received from its partners to target legitimate military targets in Russian territory in order to repel the Russian invasion.

“According to international law, Ukraine has the right to self-defense and to strike at legitimate military targets on the territory of the aggressor,” the NATO Secretary General said.

In addition, he welcomed Ukraine’s allies who have reduced or have not introduced restrictions on the use of the weapons they have provided to Ukraine. The advisor to the President of France, Emmanuel Bonn, on the sidelines of the NATO summit, said that Ukraine could use French weapons to strike any military facilities in Russia, with the exception of the Kremlin.

However, the coordinator of strategic communications in the National Security Council of the White House, John Kirby, said that the US president does not allow the use of American weapons to strike deep into Russia, as he is concerned about possible escalation.

London is also considering Ukraine’s request to use Storm Shadow missiles against military targets in Russia.
