Poland fears the outflow of Ukrainian workers due to mobilization regulations.
Polish recruitment agencies predict that Ukrainian men will gradually move from Poland to countries further west in the EU. Ukrainians with military service obligations, particularly those abroad, have less than a week left to update their data. Citizens must fulfill this obligation to be extended or issued with documents giving them the right to stay abroad and maintain employment.
It is noted that 760,200 workers from Ukraine were on Poland’s insurance register, of which 52% are men. Most of them work in the construction industry, logistics, agriculture, and trade.
Polish experts agree that a sudden outflow of Ukrainian citizens is unlikely, but in the long run, thousands of people might immigrate elsewhere in the EU. According to Polish officials, Ukrainian immigrants have been moving to the EU countries with higher salaries in the last few months.
