The EU’s 14th package of Russian sanctions targets shadow tankers, exports of liquefied gas, and dozens of people who support the war.

The EU will introduce restrictions on 20 individuals and 22 legal entities in the latest package of sanctions against Russia. The EU has already issued 13 sanctions packages on Russia following its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. The new package includes restrictions on oil tankers and liquefied gas supply.

Moreover, a few dozen popular Russian singers and businesspeople who openly support the Russian aggression against Ukraine will be sanctioned. The package also includes restrictions on the export of helium and access to some dual-purpose technologies. However, the new sanctions package must be adopted by the EU countries. A decision is expected before the meeting of EU foreign ministers on June 24.

EUobserver reported that on June 14, Hungary agreed to introduce new sanctions against Russia, but doubts remain in Germany about the advisability of strengthening restrictions for European subsidiaries in the Russian Federation.
