Kyiv has offered Argentina and Chile a free trade agreement, participation in reconstruction, and investment opportunities in Ukraine.
Following visits by Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko to Argentina and Chile, she confirmed a common interest in investment and the conclusion of bilateral agreements on free trade.
“Pharmaceutical, agricultural, and processing companies of Argentina and Chile are interested in deepening cooperation with Ukraine. A free trade agreement with Argentina can also contribute to this,” Svyrydenko noted.
Following the first meeting with the Minister of Economy of Argentina, the parties agreed to hold a meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in October, which was last held 18 years ago.
After Argentina, the Ukrainian delegation visited Chile for the first time in 19 years. At a meeting with the Minister of Economy of Chili, Svyrydenko reported on the parties’ interest in exchanging experience and attracting investment in critical materials, agriculture, processing, and digitalization.
Representatives from the Ukrainian delegation invited business and civil servants from both countries to participate in URC-2024 in Berlin and the Global Peace Summit.
