Ukraine destroyed three Russian MiG-31s at the Belbek airfield in Crimea along with a military warehouse that was full of rockets.
On May 15 and 16, Ukraine carried out attacks on the Belbek airfield in Crimea. The destruction of three MiG-31 aircraft and a warehouse containing fuel and lubricants has been reported.
Shortly after, a rocket hit the S-400 Triumph air defense system in the village of Vyshneve. As a result of these attacks, two Russian soldiers were killed, and another 13 were injured.
Ukrainian partisans also reported that there was a “precise hit” and subsequent detonation of the main warehouse storing Russian missiles and artillery. This warehouse housed most of the missiles used by Su-27, Su-30 and MiG-31 aircraft, which the Russians use to bombard Ukrainian territory.
On the night of May 16, the Belbek airfield again came under rocket attack. This attack resulting in the death of more than 20 soldiers, but the exact number is still being determined. It is also known that several Russian air defense installations were damaged in the attack.
