The European integration of Ukraine will become a priority during the Polish EU presidency; in Hungary, support for Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic course increases.

President of Poland Andrzej Duda emphasized the need to support the EU accession processes of Ukraine, Moldova, and the countries of the Western Balkans.

“Our priority next year during the presidency will be to make these countries full members of the EU as soon as possible,” he said.

The president added that, during the presidency, Poland should organize an EU – Ukraine summit, which will focus on the reconstruction of Ukraine and its accession to the EU.

“We believe that our entire community should participate in the process of rebuilding Ukraine so that it once again becomes a rapidly developing state,” Duda noted.

At the same time, support for Ukraine’s membership in the EU and NATO among Slovaks fell from 40% in 2022 to 30% in 2024 – the lowest in the Central-Eastern Europe region.

On the other hand, in Hungary, the Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine is supported by 36%; in 2022, it was 23%. However, 57% of those in the region support Ukraine’s neutral status.
