Ukraine returns as a leading iron ore exporter to Turkey, increasing total sales by 150%.

In January-February 2024, Ukraine exported 231,800 tons of iron ore to Turkey, compared to 30,000 tons in the same period of 2023. Ukraine was in third place among countries exporting this product to Turkey, with a market share of 20%.

In February, Ukrainian producers exported 156,630 tons of iron ore to Turkey, while no raw materials were shipped in February 2023. In March, Ukraine increased iron ore exports by 31.1% compared to the previous month – up to 3.34 million tons. Compared to March 2023, the indicator increased by 120%.

The total revenue of Ukrainian Mining and Metallurgical companies from the export of iron ore amounted to $310.5M, a 20.9% increase over February and 85.6% over March 2023.

In the first quarter, Ukraine exported nine million tons of iron ore, which is 150% more than in the same period of 2023.
