The Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Republicans are preparing their aid package for Ukraine.

US House Speaker Mike Johnson and Republican chairmen of key House security committees are working to craft their version of an aid package for Ukraine, reported NBC News.

However, Republicans who support Ukraine want to prepare a bill as soon as Congress approves the next government funding package on March 22. After all, further waiting may postpone the approval of Ukrainian aid to April, considering Congress’ planned two-week vacation at the end of March.

The possibility of providing a part of the non-military aid in the form of loans is being discussed. In addition, the Russian assets that are frozen in the US can also be used as collateral. The plan may also include a “generous repayment system” to help Ukraine. The provision of loans is designed to reduce the concerns of the far-right wing in the House of Representatives, who have criticized the billions of dollars in American aid that has been sent to Kyiv.
