The number of new vacancies in Ukraine has reached pre-war levels.
Searches by both employers and job seekers in Ukraine eased in December 2023. This is a typical situation for the end of the year, according to the January Macroeconomic and Monetary Review of the NBU.
At the same time, at the end of the year the number of new vacancies almost reached the December 2021 level, while the number of resumes remained significantly lower than in 2021.
“Significant disparities in the labor market by region and professional group persisted, with higher demand for workers in trade and medicine. Enterprises continued to point to a shortage of skilled labor,” the NBU review said.
Meanwhile, according to Work.ua, the most popular vacancies among Ukrainians last year were offers from these seven categories: sales, purchasing, IT, and internet; administration and middle management; the service sector; retail; secretarial workers; office management; and marketing, advertising, and PR.
Notably, the IT field, which has 9 % of all reviews, did not enter the top ten in most popular categories, indicating high competition.
