Ukraine increases scrap metal exports by almost 300%.
In January-November of this year, Ukrainian enterprises increased the export of ferrous metal scrap by 284% compared to last year, up to 161,025 tons. In monetary terms, the scrap for the specified period amounted to $46.4M, an increase of 193%.
At the same time, an increase in the export of scrap metal has been recorded since February: in January, about 8,280 tons of scrap were exported, in February exports rose to 16,500 tons, and this figure was approximately maintained throughout the following months.
Scrap was officially exported to Poland (85.87%), Greece (8.07%), and Bulgaria (2.35%).
In the first two months of the year, the country did not import scrap metal; in March-November, it imported 987 tons of scrap worth $383M (48.04% – from Slovakia, 22.45% – from Poland, 7.31% – from Estonia).
