The Slovak government has blocked €40.3M in aid to Ukraine, but Germany will hand over 100,000 ammunitions to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
On November 8, the new government of Slovakia decided to block the allocation of the 14th package of military aid to Ukraine. This package was prepared by the former leadership of the country’s Ministry of Defense, but the new government of the pro-Russian Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, decided not to approve it. It is noted that Ukraine has already received €670M in aid from Slovakia.
At the same time, German defense concern Rheinmetall received an order from the German government to supply Ukraine with about 100,000 rounds of ammunition for 120 mm mortars. The supply of this ammunition should begin soon and continue for the next two years. The ammunition is part of a recent €400M package of military aid to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
