NATO supports Ukraine and is considering options to free grain supplies.

NATO strongly condemns Moscow’s attempt to turn food into a weapon and reaffirms its support for Ukraine for “as long as it takes” said the Secretary General of the Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, after a telephone call with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The parties talked about Russia’s withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Agreement, the associated risks, and Ukraine’s plans to become a member of NATO. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the Vilnius summit and further actions regarding Ukraine’s integration into NATO with Stoltenberg.

Moreover, after several attacks on Odesa, Stoltenberg agreed to President Zelenskyy’s request to convene a meeting of the newly created Ukraine-NATO Council for consultation on the latest developments. The meeting will be held on Wednesday at the ambassadorial level to consult on the latest events and discuss the transportation of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea.
