Ukrainians have started buying more electric than gasoline powered cars.
Cars with gasoline engines are no longer the absolute leader in the new passenger car market in Ukraine. According to the results of the first half of 2023, the share of cars with gasoline engines in the sales of new cars in Ukraine decreased from 57% to 49%. Growing demand for hybrids and battery-powered cars is rapidly changing the market structure, reports Ukravtoprom.
Compared to the first half of 2022, the share of cars with gasoline engines in new car sales decreased from 57% to 49%, or by 8%. Electric cars covered 10% of the new car market, 4% higher than last year. At the same time, the market share of hybrids increased by 5% up to 18%.
The structure of the new car market in the first half of 2023 is composed as such: cars with gasoline engines had 49% of registrations, diesel cars 22%, hybrids 18%, and electric cars 10%.
