German political party criticizes plans to sell fighter jets to Saudi Arabia instead of Ukraine.

The German government intends to export 48 Eurofighter fighters to Saudi Arabia while refusing to supply combat aircraft to Ukraine.

According to Bild, although the Bundeswehr owns 138 Eurofighter Jets, and German companies participate in a consortium of European combat aircraft manufacturers, “the German government refuses even to create a training program for Ukrainian pilots, not to mention any future supply.”

Bundestag member, Anton Hofreiter states that the Scholz government is exerting pressure to export 48 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia. “We cannot deny Ukraine any weapon, which was attacked by Russia, and at the same time give the most modern weapons to dictatorships and autocracies,” he is convinced.

At the same time, Robin Wagener, another representative of the “Greens” party, which is part of the governing coalition, emphasized that Germany should become part of the international coalition of fighter jets.
