Ukraine plans to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the delegation’s composition to participate in negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership.
The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a trade and economic association created to create a free trade area in the Asia-Pacific region founded in 2016 by 12 countries. The parties’ updated agreement was signed in March 2018 after US President Donald Trump decided to withdraw from the previous agreement. It is now known as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
Australia, Brunei, Vietnam, Canada, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Chile, and Japan are current participants. As well, in February 2021, Great Britain officially informed 11 CPTPP member countries of its intention to join the trade bloc.
