Poland replaced China as the leader among importers of Ukrainian agricultural products.

Since the war began, Ukraine’s geography of farm export supply has changed, according to analysis from the Institute of Agrarian Economics. In 2022, Ukraine exported agricultural products worth $23.6B, which is 15% less than the 2021 record. The leader in imports was Poland, which in 2021 ranked only seventh. China, which had held the lead as the largest importer of Ukrainian agricultural products since 2019, took seventh place in the rating. Romania, which in 2021 was not even among the top 20, moved to second place. Hungary, demonstrated an almost tenfold increase in procurement volumes and entered the top 10 in 2022. So, the top ten are now: Poland ($2.7B), Romania ($2.5B), Turkey ($2.2B), China ($1.8B), Spain ($1.3B), the Netherlands ($1 .1B), Italy ($923M), Hungary ($884M), Bulgaria ($811M), and India ($794M). These ten countries generated about 65% of foreign exchange earnings for agriculture product exporters.
