Ukraine is working on receiving the first squadron of Western combat aircraft.
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, it does not matter whether it will be the American F-16, a Swedish Grippen, a French Mirage or Rafale, or a Eurofighter. It is essential to open a position, remove the taboo and get the first aircraft squadron. Then Ukraine will decide, considering market service and availability, which model to concentrate on, he emphasized. At the same time, Kuleba specified that the best fit for Ukrainian pilots is the basic model of the American F-16 fighter jet. According to him, psychological barriers prevent partners from providing aircraft. But it was the same with the acquisition of HIMARS, Patriot missile systems, and tanks. Therefore, Kuleba is convinced that the diplomatic team will still overcome these obstacles.
