Germany will supply 187 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine.
The German government plans to issue a permit to Rheinmetall and Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft (FFG) to supply Ukraine with 187 Leopard 1 tanks, writes Business Insider. It is noted that Rheinmetall will transfer 88 tanks from its stocks to the Ukraine Armed Forces, and another 99 units of equipment will come from the FFG company, which also has a large number of tanks in storage. At the same time, Ukraine may receive the first tanks of this type no earlier than this summer, but the exact amount of equipment is not yet known. Furthermore, the publication indicates that many Leopard 1 tanks require repair, and it is not entirely clear whether it is possible to use the entire batch on the battlefield or whether some of the equipment might be used as spare parts.
