The EIB provides € 200M loan for public transport.

The Ukrainian parliament adopted a law to ratify the financial agreement, “Public Transport of Ukraine 2” between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank (EIB). The agreement provides a loan of €200M from the European Investment Bank to Ukraine. These funds will be used to purchase new buses, trolleybuses, trams, and subway cars. Also, part of the funds will be directed to the construction and modernization of tram and trolleybus lines and other works in several Ukrainian cities. Previously, the project “Public Transport of Ukraine 1” provided more than 90 modern trolleybuses and 42 modern tramcars for the cities that participated in the project. The total cost of the project was €404.5M.
