Naftogaz Ukrainy sees potential in collaborating with the Polish state oil and gas company PGNiG in Western Ukraine, said Naftogaz CEO Yuri Vitrenko. During the meeting, “Opportunities for cooperation in exploration and production (upstream) in Western Ukraine have been discussed,” commented PGNiG. Both companies also noted that the meeting discussed joint efforts to stop the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline launch and its risks. Last year, Naftogaz and PGNiG signed a memorandum of understanding during the implementation of hydrocarbon exploration and production projects, especially in areas of western Ukraine bordering the Polish border.
